EPC (Energy Performance Certificates)

The EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive places a requirement on EU member states to ensure that the energy performance of buildings is in the public domain. The introduction of this rule is being phased in by the UK Government on several key dates in 2008. Considerable press and speculation has surrounded its introduction; however the latest information available indicates that by the close of 2008 an EPC will be required for all dwellings either for sale or rent. An EPC will also be required for all buildings other than dwellings with a floor area over 1000m² and all public buildings over 1000m².

As the production of an EPC is closely linked with our current SBEM and SAP services, Focus will be able to produce EPC's for both domestic and non-domestic buildings. Focus also has qualified Domestic Energy Assessors (DEA) who can assist with the production of an EPC on existing homes for sale or for rent.
