Focus was retained by the East Midlands Development Agency to prepare the strategy, and negotiate the funding for the regional Innovative Action "Regions in the New Economy" programme to be delivered using special reserved ERDF budgets direct from the European Commission. This attracted approximately £2 million to the East Midlands to stimulate new ideas in the spread of ICT technologies, led by the emda EMIT partnership.
